Changing faces

Yep, another new look just to keep it interesting. The problem I have it is a funny one as I should not really care but I do check out other people's blogs. As lots of people are using blogspot I do notice that some people had great taste and pick similair templates. So the old look has gone as I know of at least 2 with that had the same. No really it is funny because whenever I do change I end up pefering my new look, plus with this new look I have more colour options.
So I hope you like.

hcreations photography

Here is Adam's website:

Or just click on the link on the left hand side under blog's.
I have to say there are some really nice shots in there, just magic. So have a good look, well worth it.

Which came first?

A question many people have been asking me to be honest I don't really know.
Many of you will know that I went to hospital on Monday with lower chest and back pain. Initial results from the hospital indicated pancreatitis as I had an elevated level of lipase. Lipase is the indicator for pancreatitis and back pain is a secondary problem that arise's. It is quite strange really and I don't really drink, eat pretty well and had no fatty foods on the Sunday. So it is all a bit of a mystery. The gastro Doctors at the hospital wanted to blame the back pain as the primary problem but my GP and further investigation indicates this is not the case. As you can't get pancreatitis from back pain, I can only presume I had pancreatitis before the back pain started. Everything else that was tested was all good, but I did get tired of the alarm going off for having a low pulse.
So this week I will be off the bike, hoping for my back to fully recover. A nice massage this morning hopefully will do wonders. Can't wait to hit out some good training sessions all this lying around is making me go crazy. I'm getting in trouble from Kendra as I had done a few little jobs around the house, she is always looking out for me, making sure I do the right thing. I'd better read some more of the huge pile of mags that Jase gave me instead. It is strange after trying to fit everything in when I was training to lying around taking things easy.
Thanks to everyone who was concerned, it was great hearing Kendra's phone go off, good to have all the support.

New bikes all round

Well after many k's on my old roadie I have decided to upgrade and I am really happy with what I have. I brought a Giant Alliance 1, half alloy and half carbon makes for a very nice ride. Here is a picture:
I will write a review on it when I have done a few more k's.

Here is Kendra's new one, it is one good looking flat bar roadie. Her old 14 year old bike has seen better days so she will not know herself on this bike. It has 105 components, carbon forks, it should be a great bike.

With 2 much needed upgrades hopefully we will see trouble free riding for a while. We brought both bikes from Onya bike belco and I have to say even though I looked through many shops throughout Canberra, they do a great job, and we got another fantastic deal from them.

Up's and Down's

Well I have been having a little of a bad run lately, but that is OK most of it was in my recovery week. I was really struggling with motivation, but now I am back on track and into my next phase. Last Friday I did do my FTP test and to be honest I have not posted the results yet as I have not been happy with them. I have improved only slightly but I did have a bad day. Over cooking it in the first 5 minutes and little motivation in the last 15 minutes did make my numbers mis-leading.
But back on track and pushing hard the last few days I have been feeling good, and I know I am better than that last little test.

A much needed recovery week.

Another bank of training has come and gone, and I am back into a rest week. With a few good rides over the weekend that really blew myself out, I am in need of it. My progress has been good, and I have been learning a lot about my program, and the training I have been doing.

It is very easy just to go out for a ride when you feel good and push hard but it is not always the best thing to do. I always thought that my endurance was OK (well it is if I just want to go slow) but I have been pushing my limits in trying to push that bit harder for that bit longer. So I will plan to be more consistent in my next bank. It is strange as I feel as though I am not riding enough, but I just have to keep to the plan and trust in what I am doing.

So with some rides to and from work with Kendra this week, a 2 hour easy pace ride Thursday night while Kendra starts her Yoga, I will be ready for Friday. On Friday, Jase and I are heading out for a Fitness test to see where we are at. It has worked out great that we both finish our 3 week block and have the recovery week on the same week. So this means we can go out and really try to push each other during this test. After the recovery week is where I really notice my improvements and I hope this time will be the same. 3 weeks of hard work has to shine through and produce some nice improvements (I hope).

So stay tuned and hopefully there will be some good results.
